Each year millions of pounds of books are discarded, straining our already overcrowded landfills. In addition, millions of pounds of carbon dioxide are emitted into the atmosphere from human activity.
In efforts to increase environmental sustainability and reduce environmental damage, Books for the Future works with libraries, colleges and universities, as well as communities to collect books that would otherwise be abandoned in landfills. For each book sold, Books for the Future plants one tree through Trees for the Future. Additionally, Books for the Future relays the profits of their book sales to renewable energy initiatives including biodiesel, wind, and solar energy advocacy.
